There isn’t a category here on LinkedIn that was the appropriate one for me to choose in recommending Nikhil…we were colleagues at Pratt Institute’s Industrial Design department, and Nikhil is the greatest industrial designer I’ve ever encountered. He is a more than just a “standup kinda guy” (quite literally in my wedding!) You won’t find a more talented, determined, creative, energetic and unique furniture designer anywhere. I have a Nikhil original piece I that is the focus of my own living room that I display proudly as proof of this.

I have been working with Mr Nikhil Baveja for over 6 years on various projects.

Conceptualizing modern designs and putting them on the table in quick time is a hallmark of Nikhil’s studio.

He is extremely meticulous in his work and his designs are quite innovative and out of the box designs. He brings a lot of details which are very situational and practical.

The projects he works on have been quite varied in nature and he has not followed any set pattern of work and has gone on to newer areas of design which shows the knowledge and skill he possesses.

Every project we have worked on has always started with a lot of discussion on design details and work process which eliminates the chance of any onsite errors.

I had the pleasure of working with Nikhil Baveja during his tenure as Head of Design with Restore, and I can confidently attest that he is one of the most exceptional design leaders I’ve had the privilege to work with.

Nikhil brought technical expertise, creative vision and a tremendous “can do” approach to every design challenge. On top of all this, Nikhil is extremely funny. Which made working with him an absolute joy.

Some years ago, my organisation 3M India was looking to make over the display and reception area at our corporate office in Bangalore.

Nikhil Baveja was amongst the designers recommended to me. When we met, I took a look at his portfolio of work and was impressed by the edgy and creative thought process behind the designs.

He worked with our internal teams to understand the brief and the scope – not so easy for a company with ‘000s of products, most of which are not consumer facing.

When he presented his concept design, we were excited! His team moved in and after a few months we saw the finished result.

Nikhil moved us away from traditional display formats and created an innovative display off the ceiling! Many of our products like architectural films, conspicuity tapes, abrasive discs etc. were incorporated into the design giving the entire space a quintessential 3M look and feel. Even the seating displayed elements of our technology platforms.

This space has since been used for many an internal photo-op.

Eventually, we ended up using them for our complete interior design solutions and continue to rely on them for design and execution services for my restaurant and home as well.
